James Kerr-Lawson
1865 - 1939
Decorative and portrait painter. Born 28 October 1865 in Anstruther, Scotland. Studied in Rome at the Académie Française and the Accademia di San Luca under Luigi Galli, and in Paris with Lefebvre and Boulanger. Spent a year in Madrid and subsequently lived in Florence and London, also working in Canada and the U.S.A. Founder-member of the Senefelder Club 1909. Died in London 1 May 1939.
