The famous Lefèvre Utile biscuits manufactures, which was started by a husband and wife partneship in 1846, commissioned Firmin Bouisset (1859-1925) to popularise their brand LU.

Bouisset used a schoolboy to do this. French schoolboys wore dresses till they were about 5 years old, the medal would have been a medal given for good behaviour. This picture/poster of its time showed that school kids wore uniforms and had a cape for inclement weather.

This image was so successful that the company re-used the image over many years but this poster is the original printing from 1897.
