This British Midland Railway a division of British Railways poster, shows Coventry Cathedral also known as St. Michael’s Cathedral, the newest and latest of Coventry’s three Cathedrals over the years.

Re-built out of the ashes of the Second World War; when on the 14th November 1940 the German Luftwaffe bombed the city. The destruction of Coventry was all the more poignant as the British government knew of the impending bombing raid due to the intelligences services having cracked the Enigma code but the Government didn’t want to alert the Germans to that fact.
