This vintage poster for the Pantomime Aladdin, done in the 1950s Is perhaps one of the most famous tales from the book “One thousand and one nights”
Antoine Galland in the 18th Century is reported to have heard this tale from a Syrian storyteller from Aleppo. He then translated the tale and included it into “One thousand and one nights” and had it published in 1710.
In the 20th Century, Disney then made it into a huge fairy-tale and in Great Britain it is also well known as a Pantomime.
